Intel launches Articul8 AI with DigitalBridge

Intel Corporation announced the creation of Articul8 AI, Inc., an independent company focused on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) software platforms for enterprise customers. This move represents a strategic initiative by Intel to expand its footprint in the fast-growing AI sector.

Articul8 AI, Inc., which operates independently, was created with the intellectual property and technology developed at Intel. The company aims to offer a full-stack, vertically optimized and secure GenAI software platform. The platform is designed to support customer data, learning and inferences within the enterprise security perimeter, addressing the core privacy and security concerns of AI adoption. Additionally, it provides deployment flexibility with options for cloud, on-premise or hybrid models.

Articul8 AI is led by Arun Subramanian, former vice president and general manager of Intel’s data center and AI Group, who is now its CEO. This appointment marks a continuation of Intel’s commitment to leveraging its deep knowledge of AI and high-performance computing (HPC) to implement enterprise-class GenAI.

DigitalBridge Ventures, the venture arm of DigitalBridge Group, played a key role as the lead investor in Articul8. Along with Intel, a group of established venture investors including Fin Capital, Mindset Ventures, Communitas Capital, GiantLeap Capital, GS Futures and Zain Group took stakes in Articul8. This diverse investment support underscores confidence in Articul8’s potential to drive digital infrastructure through GenAI.

Articul8’s platform is optimized for Intel hardware architectures, including Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and Intel® Gaudi® accelerators, highlighting the synergy between Intel’s hardware capabilities and Articul8’s software expertise. The platform supports a range of hybrid infrastructure alternatives, demonstrating its flexibility in various deployment scenarios. Early deployments at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) proved the platform’s capability in industries that require a high degree of security and specialized domain knowledge, such as financial services, aerospace, semiconductors, and telecommunications.

The creation of Articul8 is a testament to Intel’s strategy to drive AI adoption in the enterprise sector. Articul8’s GenAI software platform is designed to be infrastructure and hardware agnostic, enabling companies to build, deploy and manage secure GenAI applications quickly and cost-effectively. This approach is expected to transform customer data into real insights, delivering lasting business value across mission-critical industries.
